Built on Ninja Tackle’s proprietary carbon/glass blend blank, the 8′6″ Dagger combines Medium/Heavy power with a Fast action for a responsive, lightweight setup that still has plenty of backbone when a good fish eats.

Why We Carry the 8′6″ Dagger

This is one of those rods that is just flat-out fun to have on the beach.

While your bigger surf rods are sitting in the sand waiting for a set rig to get hit, the 8′6″ Dagger is a great rod to pick up and start slinging metal lures up and down the beach. It’s light, easy to cast repeatedly, and makes chasing Spanish mackerel, bluefish, ladyfish, and other fast-moving surf species a blast.

We also love using these smaller Daggers for light-tackle pompano fishing in close. When the fish are running the first trough, you don’t always need a 12′ or 13′ rod and a heavy sinker. Scale the tackle down, fish a light pompano rig close to the beach, and even a good whiting or pompano can put on an awesome fight.

At Panhandle Surf Fishing Outfitters, we love the big surf rods when the conditions call for them — but we also almost always want a smaller rod around to sling metals while we wait for the set rigs to go off.
