Why We Fish Naked Rigs

Here along the Florida Panhandle, we can get some incredibly clean, clear Gulf water. On those days, pompano and whiting can sometimes get a little more cautious about what they eat.

When the bite gets tough or the fish seem picky, a Naked Rig can be extremely effective. With no extra beads or floats around the hook, there’s very little for a fish to inspect — your bait becomes the entire presentation.
